Twitter forcing changes in strategies : Technology : Memphis Commercial Appeal: "'We were completely bombarded,' said Lindsey Petersen, who works for JetBlue's frequent-flier program in Salt Lake City and is a member of the team that helps manage its Twitter account.
JetBlue planned to make the monthly pass available through Aug. 21. But after less than 36 hours, officials were worried about having to curtail the promotion because the carrier was running out of seats. The airline has only 65,000 airplane seats to sell each day.
'We're going to learn a lot from this,' said Jenny Dervin, spokeswoman for the New York-based carrier. 'Next time we do this, we may have different rules around it. But, honestly, Twitter will tell us. It's the ultimate market research tool.'"

The Frederick News-Post Online - Frederick County Maryland Daily Newspaper
The Frederick News-Post Online - Frederick County Maryland Daily Newspaper: "As I spent a steaming weekend in Florida, trying to cool down in front of the television, JetBlue commercials continuously assaulted me.
The 'All-You-Can-Jet' pass from JetBlue Airways trumpeted a proposal to allow jetter access to every available seat on every flight they can book in one month.
The gimmick's season opened Aug. 12 and was to end Friday. Customers could buy an unlimited travel pass for only $599. According to USA Today, the company ended the sale 36 hours earlier than expected, saying it had 'sold out' by Aug. 19.
My first reaction to the advertisement was that it seemed like a logical idea: I can go anywhere JetBlue flies, as many times as I want, in one month. Simple enough.
But wait, can I afford to take a month of vacation time at work? Do I even have enough places to visit to make the deal worth my $600?
The airline boasted 56 destinations and more than 150 jets available 'at a moment's notice,' said Robin Hayes, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for JetBlue, in a press release."

JetBlue Puts an Early End to Sales of the "All You Can Jet Pass"
JetBlue Puts an Early End to Sales of the "All You Can Jet Pass": "Executives at JetBlue Airways created quite an industry stir earlier this month when they rolled out a one-month 'All You Can Jet Pass.' A JetBlue news release dated Aug. 12 said the pass, which was $599 USD, would be available until Aug. 21. But the release said the promotion could end earlier at the airline's discretion.
Sure enough, it ended at 8 p.m. Mountain Time on Aug. 19. A JetBlue spokesman told USA Today's Ben Mutzabaugh that 'sales of the pass have really exceeded all our expectations.'"
